At the heart of the series are two major relationships, that of siblings Vi and Jinx, and the partnership between Jayce and Viktor. Jayce and Viktor come from different social classes but eventually unite over their shared ambition for scientific progress, which results in them creating Hextech - a fusion of science and magic.

You can read this as platonic if you like, but the behaviour of both characters throughout the second season speaks to something more, with the writing and animation leaning heavily into queerness. Like any great show, Arcane coming to an end brings with it a feeling of mourning.
In a series like Arcane, with a fanbase that can feel dominated by shippers, it is kind of refreshing for the series to show a really close, loving relationship between two men that doesn't end up being romantic. Linke's comments won't stop the shippers out there from headcanoning them as lovers, but it's nice to see Arcane skew toxic masculinity and show a relationship between two guys that just really love each other.
